The Sender
The all new Prosight2 Sender Unit is more compact and lightweight than its predecessor, making it easier to mount on the latest speaker arrays. The anodised aluminium casing and EtherCON connector are IP54 rated* and the unit contains a powerful green laser. The laser is used to visually align the top of the array with a reference point - usually the last row of seats in an auditorium. Not only is the green laser easier to see, it can also be set to flashing mode, which aids viewing in bright environments.
To measure the tilt angle of the top of the array, the sender contains an MEMS 3-axis accelerometer. This can accurately detect the angle of tilt over one axis, even when tilted on the other axis. It automatically filters out sudden movements and to aid the rapid adjustment of the array, intelligent interpolative measurement means that the final resting angle of the array is displayed even before the system comes to rest after motor hoist adjustment. At operational tilt angles of up to +/- 60° from horizontal, it is sensitive to 0.1°.
* The IP54 rating only applies when the unit is used with a CAT5e cable fitted with approved EtherCON connectors and the unit is mounted to a line array bumper using the correct mounting kit complete with rubber washers used on mounting bolts and on the safety cord connecting bolt.
